1. Purposes and modalities of data processing
1.1. Navigation data
The computer systems used to operate the sites with the domain .cab.unipd.it and galileodiscovery.unipd.it automatically acquire, in their daily operation, some personal data that is implicitly transmitted in the use of web communication protocols. This is data that, if processed with data held by third parties, may identify users/visitors. This includes, for example, IP addresses and names of the computer domains employed by the users/visitors connecting to sites with the domain: .cab.unipd.it and galileodiscovery.unipd.it. These data are normally collected for statistical analyses, operated anonymously and used to facilitate navigation in sites with the domain .cab.unipd.it and galileodiscovery.unipd.it.
1.2. Online services and platforms
Single Sign-On (SSO). Access to online platforms and services made available by the University is through institutional credentials provided by the University and protected by the centralized access control system called Single Sign-On (SSO), using the same credentials (login and password) generated for the management of the University mailbox (@unipd.it or @studenti.unipd.it). The technology used for the Single Sign-On service is Shibboleth (https://wiki.shibboleth.net/confluence/display/CONCEPT). Users' credentials cannot be accessed, not even in encrypted form, by service providers and web and mobile applications, since the identification process always takes place within the University's authentication system, based on the Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) protocol.
